The 'BigSig 6tm' is a single- band loop antenna that offers the same spectacular level of performance available only from high performance loops like the fantastic SuperLoop and the Bi-Square. The 'BigSig 6' is much better than common full-wave loops because of its exceptional radiation pattern, high gain, wide bandwitdth and large capture area. The 'BigSig 6' is a 3/2 wavelength loop, yet it is only 30 feet in circumference. The major lobes are broadside to the loop which means that it transmits best in directions straight through the loop. Radiation is minimal off the ends of the loop, as you can see in the radiation pattern below. |
RADIATION PATTERN

|
Since this loop produces an exceptionally clean, bidirectional figure 8 pattern with three to four dB gain, you may want to put two of these antennas in the air aimed 90-degrees from each another. Just switch between the two antennas for coverage in all directions while rejecting signals off the sides of the pattern. There's no doubt about it, the 'BigSig 6' is the perfect way to put a good signal on 6 meters without spending a lot of money on a tower and beam. Your 'BigSig 6' comes to you assembled except two connections which must be soldered. You may support your 'BigSig 6' as a delta-loop with the apex up or down. The larger the internal area of the loop, the better the antenna's performance. Thus, it is best to configure your 'BigSig 6' as a square, open rectangle or a Delta- loop. The configuration will affect the antenna's SWR and this is one method of tuning the loop for best SWR. The 'BigSig 6' has a large capture area, low receiving noise, excellent, low angle radiation pattern, and good signal gain. This is one high performance antenna that gets the job done. |
