CIN
end-insulators are made of rugged, UV resistant DELTALLOY. These are terrific.
We are NOW using these insulators on all out top-of-the-line products.
Definitely recommended.

HQ-2 (Insulator #3) The
HQ-2 end-insulator is made by the same manufacturer as the HQ-1
center-insulator. These are my insulators of choice for all antenna systems,
unless you want an even longer leakage-path. In that case, use the CIN. For
everything else, the HQ-2 is it. It is small, only about 1.5 " long, but it's
leakage-path, due to deep ribbing, is about 6". HQ-2's are glass-filled and are
nearly impossible to break. Note: We use these insulators in our Low
Profile versions of the antennas.

Plastic Strain Insulator
(Insulator #2) These
inexpensive, black or yellow (depending on source's color of the week!) plastic
strain insulators are great for any antenna project. They are NOT suitable for
towers, but are OK for masts, verticals, etc. We use them on wire antennas
because they can be installed in the middle of a wire without removing the
end-insulators and threading them on.
Get a couple of dozen before someone figures out what these
things should really cost.
